The Underscore is a long jamming contact improvisation score that Nancy has been developing since 1990. The Underscore guides us through a progression of “changing states” of body and mind—from solo sensitizing to gravity and support, into group circulation and contact improvisation engagements, opening out into whole-room compositional awareness and interaction, and back to rest and reflections.

Please note that dancers should come intending to stay for the whole duration. We send info out in advance of sessions so please email us if you would like to join the group mailing list.

Schedule:

18:00 - 18:30 Talkthrough of the score (for both newcomers and regulars)

18:45 Pow Wow into Underscore (doors close)

21:30 Underscore ends

Please note that latecomers may not be admitted.

Level: Suitable for those with some experience of Contact Improvisation. Sessions are facilitated. Please note that this is not a class.
