what is chi kung

  • chi kung; qigong; chi gong; chi gung; ki kung
“chi”- breath, vital energy and “kung”- work, practice
  • it is a science of exercise and internal awareness.
  • not yoga and not tai chi although they have similar aims

what can it do for you

  • the gentle, rhythmic movements give the body an experience of itself.
  • bring an awareness of the infinite, subtle intelligence of your body, its innate health.
  • build your strength and stamina, enhancing the immune system.
  • deepen your breath so you feel into more of yourself.
  • connect you to your body to heal your spirit.

The focus of the classes change to suit the seasons;.

For instance as we move into WINTER and the associated element of WATER we will be looking at static and moving forms connected with this element. Water represents the state of rest in nature, it is fluidity and flow and is connected to the kidney and bladder organs and meridians, it our potential for change. Then at is polar opposite is FIRE and its association with heat, the season of SUMMER and the emotion joy. In the body fire manifests primarily through the heart, but its significance and power is such that it is has four meridians. For more visit www.tonicfortheheart.com
